Icom IC-M510E EVO VHF/DSC Radio with AIS Receiver
The UK IC-M510E EVO with the built-in AIS receiver combines fixed-mount VHF/DSC communication, a colour display and network integration in one radio. View received vessel targets and select a target for an individual DSC call without manually copying its MMSI.
Communication and connectivity
- Built-in GNSS receiver and AIS reception. This is an AIS receiver, not an AIS transponder.
- Integrated NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connections for compatible onboard equipment.
- RS-M500 smartphone app control over onboard WLAN, supporting up to three smart devices; no cellular connection is needed for the radio link.
- Active noise cancellation and a 25 W two-way hailer function.
- IP68 protection specified at 1 m water depth for 60 minutes.
Exact configuration
This listing is the black UK/E radio with AIS reception, not the non-AIS model or the previous non-EVO IC-M510. The supplied HM-205RB speaker microphone can connect at the front or rear. A compatible VHF antenna, any horn speaker, network cabling, optional CommandMic and optional external GNSS antenna are separate items. Smartphone app availability and device compatibility should be checked before purchase.
Installation and safe use
Use the correct vessel MMSI, appropriate UK ship radio licence and operator qualification. Install a suitable VHF antenna and follow the manual’s RF-exposure separation and power/fuse requirements. AIS reception does not broadcast your vessel position and does not replace a visual lookout. Do not transmit a distress alert except in a genuine emergency.
Manufacturer warranty
Icom UK’s standard marine warranty is one year from purchase for manufacturing, mechanical and material defects. This exact radio is eligible for the optional three-year total leisure warranty after online registration of model, serial number, purchase date and dealer, with confirmation from Icom UK. Commercial users, charter fleets, sailing schools, yacht clubs and other organisations are excluded from the extension. Accessories remain one year. Coverage applies to eligible Icom UK authorised-dealer supply used in the UK, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland. Improper installation/use, abuse, unauthorised repair/parts/modification, altered serial numbers, overvoltage, corrosive damage, negligence, accidents and natural disasters are excluded.
