Compatibility and installation
Verify calibrated chain size and pitch, rope/splice requirements, locker fall, deck strength and electrical installation. Secure the anchor rode independently: the windlass is not a mooring bollard. Boat length alone is not a sufficient selection criterion.
Warranty
Lewmar advertises a five-year windlass warranty, with component-specific limits: its general terms limit motors and associated electrical equipment to one year. Correct selection, installation and maintenance are required. Wear, corrosion, overload and installation damage are excluded.
